Gunung Gading National Park
Gunung Gading National Park:
Located near the town of Lundu (about a 2-hour drive from Kuching), Gunung Gading Naational Parkwas gazetted in 1983 specifically to protect the Rafflesia, the world's largest flower. The park opened in 1994 which known for its features lush tropical rainforests and a rugged mountainous landscape.
The Main Attractions
The Rafflesia Flower
Home to the Rafflesia tuan-mudae, which can grow up to 1 meter in diameter. Because its blooming period is unpredictable and only lasts 5–7 days.
Jungle Trekking
Offers various trails, from the challenging hike to the summit of Mount Gading (965m) to the more relaxed Waterfall Trail (Waterfall 1,3 and 7) and to view point 1 of the facing toward Lundu town and view point 2 toward the South China sea.
Waterfalls & Natural Pools
Several scenic waterfalls that provide refreshing spots for visitors to rest and swim to cool after a hiking.

Opening Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Daily) including public holidays.
Registration: Visitors must register at the park headquarters or via online.
Preparation: Wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring plenty of water, personal medical and use insect repellent. Hiring a park guide is highly recommended if you want to find blooming flowers deep in the forest.
Other than that is to always call the park office (082-735144) in advance to check if any Rafflesia are currently in bloom.
