Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) would like to address a poster currently circulating on social media regarding a so-called “Pertandingan Menangkap Buaya 2026”.
We wish to clarify that SFC has not issued any approval, endorsement, or involvement in such an event. Any activities involving wildlife, especially protected species such as crocodiles, are strictly governed under the Wildlife Protection Ordinance, 1998.
The capturing, handling, or harming of wildlife without proper authorization from SFC is an offence under the law and may result in legal action.
Members of the public are advised to remain cautious, avoid spreading unverified information, and not to participate in any such activities promoted through unofficial channels.
SFC remains committed to ensuring wildlife conservation and public safety in accordance with established laws and governance.
